Cemetery Gates Replaced

The Hurricane Season of 2005 damaged the B'nai Zion Cemetery gates and signs. This week, the project to restore the gates was completed through the hard work of Bounce Margil and Kenny Weschler. The B'nai Zion signs at both the Frances Street entrance and the main entrance from the City Cemetery had to be reconstructed with new letters and backing boards. The gate at the main entrance had to welded and remounted on the stone pillars, the steel supports for the signs had to be rebuilt and mounted. Bounce Margil, who creates welded art sculptures, did the design and welding of the gates and support towers. (TBA-Name of others who helped) assisted Bounce and Kenny in this rebuilding project.
In 2005 four hurricanes affected Key West, Dennis, Katrina, Rita and Wilma. The sign at the main entrance to the CBZ section of the Key West Cemetery was almost destroyed by the four storms.
